Balsamic Glazed Asparagus

One thing that gets me through the low calorie days on the HCG diet is a flavorful recipe that I can count on. One of my long time favorites from one of my first rounds of HCG is balsamic glazed asparagus. One bundle of asparagus, washed and cut then laid in a non-stick pain. Spray with about 1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar, a 1/4 of a lemon squeezed on top, garlic powder, black pepper and dried minced onion. Cook on Med-high until the vinegar begins to thicken and the asparagus is cooked to your liking. Note** When purchasing balsamic vinegar for P2 it is very important to read the labels and look for the lowest sugar content. Many balsamic vinegars will have north of 4g of sugar. I was able to find one at 2g of sugar and also know from my past experiences that it does not cause me to stall but everyone is different.

3 vs 2 Loading Days

All of the times I have done the HCG Protocol I have done 2 loading days, but this time is different.  In the new and improved guide I downloaded, I read that people who have done rounds of HCG before may want to do 3 loading days so we decided to try it.  I am down 4lbs already and I have not even done a VLCD yet! Yes!!! You can download your own guide here , along with some other helpful tools.

Bye Bye Favorites

One thing that people tend to ignore during the HCG Protocol is the need to omit some of our favorite cosmetic products. Anything with oils has a high tendency to cause a stall or even a gain. I always put my favorite products away during my low calorie days because it is not worth the risk. I am dedicated to seeing the best results possible, so good-bye to my favorite skin care products... I will see you again in 26 days!  XO Ally

Loading Day 1

Per the usual about half way through the day I began to feel like I was eating thanksgiving dinner. I tried to eat more "healthy fats" such as peanut butter and high animal fat content but of course this included Chinese delivery, always!  One things I learned a long time ago is to eat some of my favorite things leading up to loading and during loading. After years struggling with an eating disorder it really helps me feel like I am in control and I was "allowed" to indulge a little but. As always on the fat loading days you should always eat lots of healthy fats such as: Eggs Avocado Nuts Olive Oil Salmon  Block Cheese (Pre shredded or string cheese is processed which can lead to many issues with water retention)
